Looking for the top Florida car accident law firms? This shortlist compares six established firms that handle crash injury claims in the state, from a Central Florida practice to firms with offices from Jacksonville to Miami.

Each firm was checked on its own website in October 2026. Every figure below is one the firm publishes about itself, and we link to the page where you can confirm it.

The short answer: López & Humphries leads our list for injured drivers in Polk and Highlands Counties, and five statewide firms give strong options in every other region of Florida.

How We Chose and Ranked These Firms

We started from Florida firms with a dedicated car accident practice and a physical office in the state. Then we applied three tests, in this order.

How we ranked them

  • Florida car accident focus: a dedicated car accident practice and staffed offices inside Florida, so the lawyers know local courts and insurers.
  • Published track record: results, history and credentials that the firm states openly and a reader can check.
  • Client access: a free case review, a clear route to an attorney, and service in Spanish for Florida’s large Spanish-speaking population.

The ranking applies those three tests. Firm size alone did not decide a position: a larger network helps in some cases, while a regional firm can offer closer contact with the lawyer handling your file.

The Top 6 Florida Car Accident Law Firms in 2026

The map below places each firm by two facts it publishes: how much of Florida its offices cover, and whether it also practices outside the state. Neither axis is a score. A firm further right or higher is not better, only different.

Read it as a guide to fit. If you want a local team you can visit, look left. If your crash happened far from home, or involves a driver from another state, the firms further right or higher have more offices to choose from.

What Florida Law Says About Car Accident Claims

A few state rules shape every Florida crash claim. Knowing them helps you ask better questions when you speak with any of the firms above.

  • Two-year deadline. Under section 95.11, Florida Statutes, an action founded on negligence must be filed within two years. The change came with HB 837, signed March 24, 2023. Older crashes may follow the previous rule, so confirm your date with a lawyer.
  • Fault over 50 percent. Section 768.81(6) bars recovery for a party found more than 50 percent at fault for their own harm. At 50 percent or less, damages are reduced by your share of fault.
  • PIP and the 14-day rule. Florida’s no-fault coverage, under section 627.736, pays 80 percent of medical costs up to $10,000. You must get initial care within 14 days, and the limit drops to $2,500 without an emergency medical condition finding.
  • Pain and suffering threshold. Section 627.737(2) allows those damages only for permanent injury, significant and permanent loss of a bodily function, significant scarring or disfigurement, or death.

Whether a specific injury meets that threshold depends on medical evidence, and it is often disputed. This article is general information, not legal advice.

How to Choose the Right Car Accident Law Firm

Start with location. A firm with an office near the crash site knows the local judges, police agencies and medical providers. For background on regional options, see our list of car accident attorneys in Central Florida.

Then ask every firm the same questions:

  • Who will handle my case day to day, an attorney or a case manager?
  • How many car accident cases has the firm taken to trial recently?
  • What percentage is the contingency fee, and who pays case costs if we lose?
  • Can I work with the team in Spanish, if I prefer?

One red flag: any firm that promises a specific dollar amount before reviewing your medical records. No honest lawyer can know that on day one.

If your crash caused a back or neck injury, our guide to spinal injury law firms in Florida covers firms that handle those claims.

In Summary

For a crash in Polk or Highlands County, López & Humphries combines local offices, a published record and Spanish-language service.

Elsewhere, Morgan & Morgan and Anidjar & Levine offer wide office networks, Farah & Farah suits North Florida, Searcy Denney fits complex litigation, and Swope Rodante is strong when an insurer will not pay.

Act early: the two-year filing deadline and the 14-day PIP rule both start running on the day of the crash.
